Men’s Health Week is from June 11th to 17th this year. It’s an entire week dedicated to shedding light on healthy living for boys and men.
Most articles you will see regarding Men’s Health Week address the needs for a healthy diet & exercise to prevent diabetes and heart disease in the future.
I want to talk about another kind of prevention though: hearing loss prevention.
Hearing health ties in with overall health in a big way, and once you’ve lost your hearing, you cannot get it back.
Maybe you already have some hearing loss, but taking action and protecting your hearing from further damage is so important.
If you are going to be in a loud situation, whether it be mowing your lawn, going to a rock concert, etc, wear some earplugs!
We do custom earplugs at our office in Burnaby. You can read more about them here.
If you aren’t interested in custom ones for whatever reason, foam plugs work great too! They are so readily available at all drug stores and gas stations.
If you suspect you may have a hearing loss, be sure to get a hearing test done. If you don’t go further with hearing aids, you will at least have a baseline test that you can always refer back to.
Happy Men’s Health Week!
