Did you just recently upgrade your hearing aids? If you have an old pair, there are a few things you can do with them.
Keep them as a back-up pair
A lot of our clients will keep their old, still functioning hearing aids as a backup set. If your new hearing aids need to be sent in for repair, having a back up pair will give you peace-of-mind that you won’t be without hearing for a week or more.
Donate them to a hearing aid charity
There are a few hearing aid charities around. The one we deal with is Starkey Hearing Foundation. They take old hearing aids, refurbish them, and then take them to third world countries and fit the locals that can’t otherwise afford hearing aids.
Pass them on to a loved one
You may have a close friend or family member that is struggling with hearing, but can’t afford something new. As long as your old hearing aids are not a custom style, they can be programmed for another person.
